Hatred of races.

In the Movie American History X its deals with racism and how gangs affiliate with racist acts, it takes place in Los Angeles. The main character name is Derek Vineyard which he is a neo Nazi (Skinhead). He’s big time in his gang for committing racist crimes. Derrek is in an all-white gang which hates other races. They are very harsh towards black and Latin’s. The Neo Nazi skinheads originated from the revival of Nazis. It was created to discriminate against blacks, Latinos, LGBT and every other race besides whites. They came about in the 1980s and were known for hate. They hate others that are not the same as them and that is why they commit so many racial crimes. Derek has implanted in his younger brother Danny to hate blacks and Latinos because being white means you’re pretty much superior to others. Throughout the movie Derrek kills two black guys that attempts to steal from his house. He is then sent to prison and slowly is realizing that racism is not anything he wants to deal with anymore (finally realizing what he has been doing is bad). He then changes his ways and want to save his brother from falling down the wrong path. When he gets out of jail he’s praised as some type of hero but then denies it and his ex-gang then hates him. As he’s changing his brothers way so that no ham would be done to him, his little brother gets shot in the head by a black man because of his racial actions. The movie deals with many racial slurs and stereotypes.

In our reading from Gallagher in chapter 19 there’s a discussion about having a Negro problem in the United States and the man that was interviewed (Richard wright) said it’s a white problem. (Gallagher, 139). This being said its referring to racial problems comes from black people not whites and that they (the white people) have to deal with it. Whiteness is America according to this chapter just as in American History X, whiteness is superior. If you’re not white than your pretty much shit. White people don’t believe that what they are doing is racist, to them its justice because they are too privileged to understand. this relates to the Neo Nazi because they are fighting for their ways as America being an all-white country, and because they believe they are superior.
